First Nations

Gitga_at_First_Nation.jpg1

The Gitga’at and other First Peoples within Canada’s borders hold traditions, values and customs that build upon hundreds of years of remote and rugged living, the majority of which did not include dealing with all us white molks. This Backgrounder cursorily reviews the First Nation experience after contact with Europeans. I give special emphasis to the Gitga’at First Nation, the people with whom and for whom the Bangarang Project is being carried out.

This and other Backgrounders are available on the Reports page.
