It is approximately 440 miles of straits, narrows, open sea, passages, fjords, tidal rapids and chutes from the Bangarang‘s current moorage in West Vancouver to the study area, mostly into the wind. Dad and I are gonna do it in 16 days, rain or shine. That takes planning. On the country’s corner down from the boat, my apartment floor is currently serving as both a nav table, equipment staging floor, dinner table, and bike locker. On the corner to its right, dad’s study is brimming in kind with charts, notes, and spreadsheets. He’s planning the bottom half of the journey, I the top.
It should be the father-son trip of a lifetime.
